dr. james jenkins- Principal
Dr. Jenkins is an experienced educator, administrator, and United States Navy veteran. He most recently served as principal of Isbell Middle School, where he strengthened school culture and student achievement. Previously, he was the assistant director of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for the Conejo Valley Unified School District, leading districtwide equity initiatives. His leadership experience also includes principal, assistant principal, and dean roles, along with a foundation as a special education teacher and coach across all grade levels.
Dr. Jenkins holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University, as well as an administrative services credential. He also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from CSU Channel Islands.
As he transitions to principal of Barbara Webster Elementary Academy of Sports and Health Science, Dr. Jenkins brings a leadership style grounded in compassion, transparency, and a commitment to student success.
Outside of work, he is a high school and youth football official. He is also an avid sneakerhead, a fan of Star Wars, and a former high school football and cheerleading coach- experiences that reflect his belief in teamwork, school spirit, and inclusivity.
